If you could leave tomorrow without worrying about the budget, what would you choose?
Poll period: Friday, 25 September 2026 09:00 – Saturday, 03 October 2026 23:00
Total votes: 34
Between September 25 and October 3, 2026, Travel Inspiration Magazine asked readers what they would choose if they could leave tomorrow without having to worry about the budget.
A total of 34 people took part in the poll, and the results revealed a clear preference for travel experiences in which nature plays a central role.
A tropical island with turquoise waters received 15 votes, or 44.12%. Exactly the same number of participants chose deep into the wilderness, also with 15 votes and 44.12%.
The pulse of a cosmopolitan city came in third with 4 votes, representing 11.76% of the total.
Two very different ideas of the perfect trip
The tie at the top is the most interesting part of the results.
On one side is the classic tropical escape: warm water, beaches, and time to slow down. On the other is an almost opposite kind of journey: remote landscapes, wild places, and the sense of heading somewhere less familiar.
The experiences are very different, yet they received exactly the same level of support.
That suggests there is no single definition of a dream trip. For some readers, it means rest and simplicity. For others, it means movement, nature, and discovery.
88.24% of votes went to nature-focused travel
When the two leading choices are considered together, the result becomes even more striking.
Thirty out of 34 participants, or 88.24%, selected a type of travel in which the natural environment is central to the experience.
Only four participants chose the cosmopolitan city.
This does not mean that city breaks are losing their appeal. The poll did not ask where people are actually planning to travel next. It asked what they would choose if financial limitations were removed altogether.
That distinction matters. Once cost is taken out of the equation, most participants move toward experiences defined by open space, nature, and greater distance from everyday surroundings.
What do these results tell us?
With 34 votes, this poll should not be treated as a representative study of broader travel behavior. It reflects the preferences of Travel Inspiration Magazine readers who chose to participate during this particular polling period.
Even so, the pattern is clear.
44.12% chose a tropical island.
44.12% chose the wilderness.
11.76% chose a cosmopolitan city.
There is no clear winner between the sea and the wild. There is, however, a strong indication that when practical limitations disappear, nature remains the most compelling source of travel inspiration.
