The Order of the Dannebrog, featured on the postcard, is one of Denmark’s oldest and most revered orders of knighthood. Established in 1219, it is named after the legendary Danish flag, the Dannebrog, which is said to have fallen from the sky during the Battle of Lyndanisse, signaling divine intervention. Today, the Order is awarded for exceptional service to Denmark and the Danish monarchy, and its insignia is one of the most recognizable symbols of Danish honor.
